The Rockport School Committee on April 15 adopted a summative evaluation that rated Superintendent Mark Bracco "exemplary," and moved to have the chair negotiate possible contract amendments with him and report back to the committee.
Chair Amy Oakes read the committee's assessment, thanking Bracco "for your exemplary work on behalf of Rockport Public Schools," and said the committee found he exceeded goals on district strategy implementation, operations, and professional growth. After brief comments from members praising leadership and community engagement, Nicole L. moved to accept the evaluation; the motion passed by voice vote.
Committee members emphasized the breadth of the superintendent's duties in a small district and the value of his leadership beyond the schools. Mark Loran moved a second motion authorizing the chair to meet with Bracco to "negotiate possible amendments to his contract for the coming year;" the committee approved that direction and the chair said she will return to the full committee with any proposed changes. The committee also noted the evaluation process will continue to be grounded in the Commonwealth's superintendent standards and in the district's improvement goals.
