Alternative Energy Subcommittee recommends hiring Palmer Capital to advance Deerhill and Osgood school solar project

The Town of Cohasset Alternative Energy Subcommittee recommended that the School Committee engage Palmer Capital to assist with the next phase of the proposed solar arrays at Deerhill and Osgood schools. Doran Hole, member of the Alternative Energy Subcommittee, said the School Committee responded favorably to the subcommittee’s presentation and will place the recommendation on a future summer agenda for further discussion.

The subcommittee said the consultant would help address outstanding due-diligence items including roof sequencing, traffic circulation around the school sites, and utility interconnection constraints with National Grid. The subcommittee noted that resolving interconnection capacity and other technical matters will be important to the project schedule and implementation. No formal contract action occurred at the meeting; the School Committee will consider whether to retain the consultant at a later meeting.
