Andy Hess told the council the Land Information Office has a federal USGS grant for the 2026 LiDAR project totaling $68,729.94, and the county will pay $44,220 toward the project. Hess said orthophotography will be collected at 6‑inch resolution (same price as 2024) and that flights are scheduled for April, with data delivery and integration into county workflows expected in the fall.
Hess discussed grant management and integration work to ensure the new LiDAR and orthophoto datasets are incorporated into planning, highway, and Land & Water workflows. The office plans to update internal processes so staff can use the 2026 data in fall 2026.
