Bay Village honors Lady Rockets after back-to-back Division 3 state titles

Bay Village City Council opened its Jan. 20 meeting by recognizing the Bay Lady Rockets for winning back-to-back Division 3 state soccer championships.
"It is with sincere pleasure that we present this certificate of recognition in celebration of back to back division 3 state championship titles," the presiding council member said as the mayor and staff presented certificates to players, coaches and support personnel. Council members listed the roster and staff to ensure those not present would receive certificates later.
The council praised the coaching staff and volunteers for organizing and training multiple age groups. Head coach Scott Simpson was singled out for thanks. The administration said the certificates and roster would be recorded in the official minutes and be uploaded to the city's website for public record and historical reference.
The recognition concluded the ceremonial portion of the meeting and the council moved on to its Committee of the Whole business.
