Daniel Margulies, representing Eric and Megan Glass, explained the project at 423 Walmar will push the north wall outward roughly 5 feet to create a larger garage and a second-floor master suite. Mr. Glass told the board the project began to provide additional bedroom space for his 13-year-old daughter and noted family circumstances related to his 11-year-old son.
Board members said the change was modest and noted neighbor support submitted to the building department. The motion to grant a 1-foot variance from the minimum side setback requirement (mover: Tricia Rhea; second: Jan Saurman) passed unanimously, 5-0. The variance allows construction in accordance with the plans submitted with the application.
