Coach Kemp, introduced to the board as OJ/Coach Kemp, was presented as Cedar Hill ISD’s incoming executive director of athletics and accepted the role with a vows of service to student‑athletes, coaches and the broader community.
"I am here to serve," Coach Kemp said in her remarks, thanking Dr. Gamel and the board for the opportunity and describing athletics as a vehicle for character development, academic support and community pride. She outlined priorities that include supporting coaches, promoting academic success for athletes and building relationships across families and community groups.
The introduction noted Coach Kemp’s prior experience in Arlington ISD, including promotions from teacher and coach to assistant athletic director and track and girls basketball achievements. The board and district leaders publicly lauded her record and welcomed her leadership as the district transitions athletic oversight to the new director.
