The board moved to adopt the district's tentative budget for the coming fiscal year to allow staff to continue preparations for the new school year before final adoption.
Finance committee representatives explained that adopting a tentative budget provides authority to proceed and frame staffing and operations while the final budget is developed. The motion to adopt the tentative budget passed with recorded Aye votes from Members Weinstock, Pfannselder, Horowitz, Golden and President Silver Schack.
Board materials and staff responses during committee of the whole had addressed earlier questions, and no additional substantive questions were raised during the open meeting. Staff said further budget details will be presented as the district moves toward a final adoption later this fall.
