Superintendent details construction progress across Northbrook SD 28 schools

"If you've been by the schools, you know that there's a lot of activity at all of our buildings," the superintendent said, noting the Meadowbrook gym is about "95% complete" and that the Meadowbrook south parking lot paving is "being told... will be complete by the August 10," a date the district flagged as important for parking and traffic flow. He described a partially completed south storm trap that the contractor expects to finish soon and explained the district is coordinating with the village on additional stormwater infrastructure.
The superintendent also walked the board through site progress at Greenbrier and Westmore: building pads at Greenbrier are complete with foundations and utilities underway; Westmore has finished its building pad with slab and framing scheduled soon and an asphalt extension beginning 07/28. He said the district negotiated shared parking with a nearby Methodist Church and with the Park District to reduce neighborhood street parking during construction days.
Board members approved several construction pay applications later in the meeting. The superintendent closed the update by saying crews are "hitting the ground running" and that the district will continue to share aerial photos and schedule updates as projects progress.
