Commission approves Pioneer Homestead rezoning, plats and special-use permit

The Sarpy County Board approved a package of planning and zoning actions for Pioneer Homestead on July 28: rezoning from AG to AGD, preliminary and final plats, and a special-use permit to allow farm implement and equipment sales. Planning staff said the site, roughly 17.54 acres southwest of Highway 50 and Cornish Road, contains an existing single-family residence and an implement dealership and that no physical changes are currently proposed.
Robert, the planning presenter, said staff included a special-use permit so the existing implement sales use would be brought into compliance with AGD zoning; staff recommended approval of rezoning, preliminary plat, final plat and the special-use permit subject to standard conditions. No members of the public spoke in opposition. Commissioners moved to approve each item separately; the transcript records motions and that each motion passed.
Staff noted that if future changes or expansions are proposed the owner would need to provide paved parking and ADA-compliant circulation and comply with Sarpy County zoning requirements.
