Sarpy County honors 25-year employee Barb Poussaint and introduces replacement

The Sarpy County Board of Equalization opened its July 28 meeting by honoring longtime county employee Barb Poussaint for 25 years of service and presenting her with the county’s challenge coin.
"You know, you're just such a great person," Chair said in remarks thanking Poussaint for mentoring judges and lawyers and for her long service. Several commissioners echoed the thanks; one said lawyers will "miss you like crazy in your position." Poussaint accepted the recognition and introduced her replacement, Dana Rich Hart, who previously served as a clerk magistrate and began training last Friday.
County officials said Hart will take over Poussaint’s duties as part of an on‑the‑job transition. The board asked staff and the clerk’s office to assist Hart during the training period. No formal vote or other action was required; the recognition was ceremonial and the meeting then proceeded to regular business.
