Chair Richard Varga reported the City has initiated clearing at the designated site for what the Commission agreed to call the 'Traxler Family Arboretum Education Center,' a name chosen to cover both visitor services and educational activities and to support grant applications as requested by Mayor Jensen.
Varga said he and student member Collin O'Donnell are organizing a March meeting that will include Avon High School Principal Christina Buller, interim superintendent Michael Zalar, Mayor Jensen and members of the Avon Street Department to discuss establishing a pathway connecting the school boundary to the Arboretum and to outline educational partnerships.
