During two public-comment periods residents raised concerns about household and business tax burdens, asked for clearer prioritization of needs versus wants in the bond package, and suggested housing and program-design ideas to maximize benefits.
Greg Richardson opened public comment urging the board to scale back a $24,000,000 proposal, noting a large increase in taxable value and the impact on rental-property owners: "Maybe try to scale that down from the 24,000,000 somewhere around 12,000,000," he said. Another commenter with real-estate experience reviewed local tax shares and recommended the board "ask for what you need, not what you want," and suggested exploring smaller, more affordable home prototypes and deed restrictions to prioritize district families.
Cindy Banner and other residents expressed support for CTE and elementary improvements but asked for clearer information on who pays for which pieces (ISD/CTE vs. local bond). Commenters said they appreciated the board's discussion and asked for transparent, prioritized cost breakdowns to present to voters.
