The Boyne City Public Schools Board adopted a revised Title IX policy presented as a reversion to the 2020 framework after a federal court order struck later changes. The superintendent said the update was largely organizational and intended to be more K–12 friendly; attorney Jennifer Starlin led the revisions. "It's the first time it's ever happened this way where these are just... a return to the 2020 policies after that judge a federal judge ordered them to be struck," the superintendent said.
Trustees discussed practical implications for investigations and training (the superintendent noted the earlier approach could require as many as five separately trained roles while revisions enable fewer staff to play multiple roles in some cases). The board moved to approve the policy (motion moved by Jill, supported by Sarah) and passed it by voice vote.
