The board approved the use of Lincoln Learning, EdOptions Academy, and Plato Courseware for the 2024–25 school year to follow Michigan Department of Education guidance and to preserve course options for families. Nick (speaker 10) explained the district does not typically use some of the platforms but keeps them approved so a family could select an online option if needed.
"There's about 300 courses in there, and they cover a lot of different curriculum," Nick (speaker 10) said, describing the scale of available titles and noting the district narrows course approvals that it trusts for high‑school credit. The motion to approve the platforms passed by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
Administrators said they do not anticipate widespread, immediate use but prefer to retain the platforms as options in case families request them.
