Board ratifies KEA tentative agreement and approves 2.63% district-wide wage increase effective July 1

Administration reported that negotiations with the Kenosha Education Association yielded a tentative agreement that the KEA ratified: a 2.63% base-wage increase effective 07/01/2026. Superintendent Dr. Weiss asked the board to ratify that agreement and to approve the same 2.63% base increase for regular full-time equivalent employees not represented by KEA.
Board members moved and seconded the motions. During discussion, a board member proposed a friendly amendment to add $1 per hour for special-education Educational Support Professionals (ESPs); administration said it would calculate the cost and board members agreed to authorize an additional dollar for ESPs provided the total did not exceed a specified cap, to be returned for formal approval if it did.
The board approved both motions and the amendment (with the financial proviso) by voice vote.
"At that meeting, there was a tentative agreement reached for a base wage increase of 2.63% effective 07/01/2026," Dr. Weiss said when reporting the bargaining result.
