DESCOM executive director position posted; advisory board to interview and recommend mid-August

An official update at the July 28 meeting said Des Moines County is recruiting a permanent executive director for DESCOM.
An agency official told the board the DESCOM executive director vacancy has been posted and applications are due Aug. 7. “The advisory board, the DESCOM, for the DESCOM control board will conduct those interviews and then make a recommendation to the control board for the next director for DESCOM,” the official said, adding the county has placed an interim director and expects a mid-August recommendation to the control board.
No board vote took place; staff said the advisory board will run interviews and forward recommended candidates to the control board for decision.
