Athletic director Bridal Gerlick presented two coaching recommendations for Memorial High School: Amber Lloyd for head girls track coach and Chris Allen for head wrestling coach. Gerlick described Amber’s 10 years in the district and her experience working with multiple sports, and said the district looks forward to a strong season under her leadership.
Gerlick introduced Chris Allen as a 25-year coach who has led programs to five UIL state wrestling championships and five state dual team championships and who has coached 76 all-state wrestlers. Allen noted that his wife Monica—currently coaching national youth teams in Indianapolis—was unable to attend. “He has led his programs to five UIL state wrestling championships,” Gerlick said of Allen’s record.
