Council introduced three ordinances to ratify labor contracts with the Alliance Administrative & Finance Employee Association (AAFEA), the Water Pollution Control Employees Association (WPCEA), and Alliance Wastewater/Water/Street Department Employee Association (AWWWSEA), but took no final action on Ordinance Nos. 021-26, 022-26 and 023-26 during the meeting.
Finance Chair Lohnes requested that Finance review be waived for Ordinance Nos. 20–26 for the evening and moved that no action be taken on the three ratification ordinances that night. In response to council questions, a staff member outlined the city's collective bargaining landscape, listing several formal unions (Police, Fire, Street Department, Water Treatment) and noting variation in affiliation and SERB recognition for certain groups.
