District academic staff presented a summary of instructional materials and technology purchases with individual items above $50,000 highlighted and funding sources explained for trustees.
Items discussed included Amplify for K–2 ELAR, HMH for grades 3–5 and secondary literature, mClass dyslexia screening and intervention, Schoology as the district’s learning management system (funded partially with Title funds), College Board assessment services (AP, SAT, PSAT), NWEA MAP assessments, Imagine Learning for credit recovery and the proposed secondary math adoption (Envision). The presenter said many purchases are through cooperative contracts (co‑op) and identified account sources including the instructional materials and technology allotment, the general operating fund (199), and Title funds. The presenter noted state requirements for Reading Academy training and said the district will bring specific items back to the board in May for formal approval.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about which campuses are non‑Title and how assessments and professional development expenditures were budgeted; staff offered to follow up with the number of teachers trained in Reading Academy and to double‑check any items close to the $50,000 threshold.
