The Euclid Commission certified a new entry-level candidate list for the Euclid Fire Department on Nov. 4, 2025, after the law director told commissioners the list was compiled from a regional test held in September and was presented to the commission for approval. The law director said, "Chief Womack is unavailable today. And he's asking for approval of the list that's been presented to, the commission."
The chair asked for a motion to certify the list "as the new Euclid Fire Department entry level list as of 11/04/2025." Commissioner Robinson moved to certify the list and the chair seconded; recorded votes were "Aye," and the motion carried. The law director told commissioners the department anticipates a vacancy this month or next and an expected retirement in early 2026 and recommended proceeding with interviews using the certified list.
The certified list will be used to schedule interviews and fill upcoming vacancies. No additional funding, ordinance, or statute was cited during the discussion; Chief Womack was not present to speak directly to the commission.
