Karen Roberts to retire; board approves retirement and posts position

The board moved to approve the retirement of Karen Roberts effective Aug. 1, 2025. The superintendent said Roberts has served the district for approximately 30 years and that her intention is to reapply for the role; the district will conduct standard interview procedures if she pursues rehire.
Board members congratulated Roberts on her service and the superintendent described existing state provisions that allow staff to work back on PERS as a rehired retiree. "She is retiring — congratulations to her," the superintendent said in presenting the personnel item. The board approved the retirement motion by voice vote.
