ServiceMaster representatives told trustees the company emphasizes employee development and community support. CEO Josiah Ursuri said the firm had raised funds for districts in emergencies and described a plan of annual scholarships and a $50,000 annual contribution to the district over the life of the agreement. "We care about our people, we care about you, the customer, and we care about the community," he said.
The contract term discussed runs from July 1 through June 30, 2028, with the district reserving the right to renew up to three additional years. Staff said existing ABM custodians would be offered first‑right‑of‑refusal interviews and that ServiceMaster plans to raise starting pay and include bonus structures; trustees asked for a staffing breakdown and a follow‑up presentation on day‑porter coverage and student feedback. The board moved to award the contract and the motion passed by vote.
