The Pahrump Public Lands Advisory Committee voted to repair the Roadrunner Road range fence and set a tentative repair date of March 8, 2026, after a discussion of multiple measures to reduce vehicle collisions with wild horses and burros along north SR-160. Robert Adams moved to repair the fence; Frank Slaghuis seconded and the motion passed unanimously among members present.
Committee members and public commenters proposed several mitigation ideas: Jim Hannah suggested creating a wild horse/burro reserve; Jaynee Reeves recommended siting a reserve in Discovery Park and painting horse/burro emojis on SR-160 pavement as a visual warning; Commissioner Strickland said seven cattleguards are needed; and Robert Adams suggested reflector signs to lower night speeds. The committee tasked staff to firm up repair scheduling at the next meeting.
