Blue Goose electric bus delayed; county to use DOT trust funds to retain purchase dollars locally

Committee Chair Brynna Watters-Moffitt asked whether the Blue Goose electric bus would be available in 2026 or 2027. Pat Daoust, listed in the minutes with BART, said delivery will probably be at the beginning of next year because of problems with the previous manufacturer; once the new company gets the purchase order it will take six months to deliver.
Watters-Moffitt said the county earmarked money from its DOT trust fund to help cover the electric-bus cost so the funds remain available in the county rather than reverting to DOT. Daoust described the new electric bus as an improvement over the one previously purchased and said staff continue to coordinate procurement details.
