TCC renames TAP, reports four volunteer drivers as mileage rate rises to 76¢

Brynna Watters-Moffitt, chair of the Bayfield County Transportation Coordination Committee, told members the county is renaming the TAP program to the Volunteer Driver Program and circulated program handouts at the July 21 meeting.
Watters-Moffitt said the program currently has four volunteer drivers. She and other committee members noted several volunteers place limits on whom they will drive or how far they'll go; when a volunteer cannot accommodate a trip, staff refer riders to Todd Mattson at BART (listed in the minutes as 'BART'). The committee also noted the reimbursement rate for mileage changed in July 2026 to 76 cents per mile, which affects how volunteer trips are compensated.
Committee members discussed coordination and continuing oversight: Madi Mackin remains the primary contact for the Volunteer Driver Program, and Watters-Moffitt said she will continue work to recruit additional drivers and monitor program capacity.
