Planning board schedules extra July meeting and plans staffing changes as consultant support begins

The board agreed to hold an extra workshop-style meeting next Wednesday at 7 p.m. to continue review of active applications (including 104 Memorial Drive) and to accommodate a planned demonstration of mapping work. Staff asked members to confirm room availability; the Chair asked staff to place the Memorial Drive item first on the extra meeting agenda so the applicant can present corrected materials.
Staff also outlined interim staffing support: Taylor (administrative support) will assist with agendas, noticing and minutes, and the board will engage a consultant on an interim basis to attend one meeting a month until a permanent planner is hired. Members discussed which meeting should be designated for application review so the consultant can advise on those cases. The board agreed to swap meeting functions so that applications fall on the meeting when the consultant is available.
