Treasurer Julie reported to the Select Board on July 28 that the town—s cash position is stable and provided line-item context for several budget lines in the ledgers. "There—s $1,600,000 in the general checking account," Julie said, and she described $1,500,000 of that as available for operations after recent borrowings and warrant actions.
Julie walked members through several items that appeared overdrawn on line-item reports, explaining coding errors and customary audit timing that keeps some budget lines showing as negative until commitments and the audit are complete. She reported recent receipts including a $128,694 PI grant and franchise-fee payments and said the town had drawn $450,000 on a short-term borrowing facility earlier in the year.
On rescue billing, Julie said the receivable balance as of July 20 was $846,331.09 and explained past practice of carrying 2025 revenues forward to 2026 until the audit is completed. She offered to provide detailed account breakdowns and to scan commitment documents for board review.
Board members asked for copies of the commitment and account summaries; Julie agreed to circulate them after audit-related consolidations are complete. The treasurer reiterated she will help draft any warrant articles needed to carry forward or reclassify account balances.
