Trustee outlines sewer contract changes and $6,000–$10,000 pipe repair to improve metering accuracy

Trustee Carl Wahl told the board on June 22 that he is updating the sewer contract among the Village of Solon Springs, Gordon and USCLSD to use the village's meter rather than the districts'. Wahl said the new contract incorporates language from the original 1987 agreement and recommended assessing pump ages and lift-station conditions to create a replacement plan and budget, including generators for lift stations.
Wahl also said the board plans an upcoming sewer-pipe replacement on the section of pipe near the meter to improve accuracy; he provided an estimated cost range of $6,000–$10,000 for that section. The board discussed aligning budgeting for infrastructure replacement and noted the metering change should improve billing and operational transparency.
