Council approves minutes, reviews Mayor's Court report and shares community announcements

Reading City Council opened routine business at the Nov. 18 meeting: roll call named members present and council approved the Nov. 4 regular meeting minutes on a motion by Mrs. Eadicicco, seconded by Mrs. Kroeger; the motion carried by voice vote.
The meeting recorded the October Mayor's Court disbursement report: 196 bench warrants issued, 264 cases heard and $14,415 collected. Mayor Bemmes and staff also announced a series of community events: the fire department turkey raffle Nov. 21'22 at Haffey Fieldhouse, the Knights of Saint John ham raffle Dec. 6'7, and the annual Christmas tree lighting and Holiday Walk on Dec. 6. Public Works reported parks winterization and ongoing leaf pickup ahead of snow season.
Council member Scott Thamann recognized recent Reading High School alumni and a current student who published books this year, encouraging residents to support their work. The meeting adjourned at 8:19 p.m.
