Neighbors at Planning Commission hearing urge denial over noise, truck traffic and well-water runoff fears

Adrian Hanell, whose property borders the project buffer, said she opposed the development and raised health and home-value concerns: "She is not in favor of this development, and it is not for the betterment of the city or this neighborhood. This development will cause risks to our health and home values," she said. Gary Carnahan and Kyle Sturgis described persistent truck noise and tailgate slamming, with Carnahan calling the project inappropriate for a neighborhood setting. Residents also asked how runoff would be handled for properties on private wells along Mill Street and whether the City can ensure neighbors’ wells will not be affected.
Commissioners and staff acknowledged the concerns; OHM and the Building Official identified specific plan and safety items to be addressed, and the Commission tabled the applications until the applicant provides corrected plans, independent sound verification and utility/permits documentation. The Commission directed the applicant to address signs and operational controls for tailgate slamming and truck routing in revised submissions.
