Mayor Lee Harmon swore in Mr. Friend as the new Police Chief of the Village of Covington during the council meeting on July 6.
Mr. Friend thanked family and friends for attending and thanked council for hiring him; according to the minutes he said he “will do the best I can for as long as I can.” Mayor Harmon said he looks forward to Dave starting and expects a good working relationship. The swearing-in was ceremonial and took place before the evening’s ordinances and resolutions were considered.
