Under old business, Matt Mohr distributed proposed changes intended to revise classification language in position descriptions and to remove or update references to administrative ranks in Fire and Police classifications. John Gross moved to adopt two types of changes to the rules and regulations (including Rule 3A page 1; Rule 4.2; Rule 4.3; Rule 4.3b; Rule 4.13; Rule 5.3); Renee Young seconded the motion and the commission agreed to proceed.
Mohr will send the cleaned-up draft to Secretary Candice Martin, who was instructed to post the document in the Legal section for 30 days and then post notice for a public hearing. The minutes record the motion passed; the commission did not yet adopt the rules formally but moved them into the public-notice stage required under commission procedures. The minutes do not include the text of the amendments themselves, which the record describes as “on file.” The commission set no specific public hearing date at this meeting.
