Police, fire report July statistics; mayor highlights National Night Out

Shelly Kroeger presented the Public Health & Safety committee's July statistics: 1,132 calls for service, 31 auto accidents, 90 booking original charges and 125 total criminal charges. Citations totaled 167 across several jurisdictions. Fire Department reported 200 EMS responses and 41 fire responses for a July total of 241 runs.
Auditor Sabrina Smith and Mayor Robert "Bo" Bemmes both praised National Night Out at Koenig Park as a positive community event. "National Night Out at Koenig Park was an amazing event for all ages," Auditor Smith said. Council members also urged drivers to slow down as schools reopen and warned residents about loose dogs and to report concerns to 911.
