The Board approved a personnel slate that included changing Angela Michael’s title from Assistant General Counsel to Associate General Counsel and authorizing Strata Leadership to conduct annual performance evaluations of RUSO university presidents.
Following a vote to enter executive session to discuss multiple pending litigations and employment matters, the Board reconvened and voted to offer President Whitlock the position of President of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The Board then returned to executive session and later approved a motion to allow the University of Central Oklahoma to retain outside legal counsel, in consultation with RUSO General Counsel, to investigate a pending whistleblower/retaliation claim. All motions in this section were recorded as unanimously approved.
The executive-session agenda listed litigation matters by case caption (e.g., Tatum Robertson, Eve Brennan, and Marin Rhodes v. UCO; Dr. Rachel Tudor v. Marie Galindo et al.; and multiple OCR and EEOC complaints). The minutes do not record deliberations held in executive session nor provide detailed findings from those confidential discussions.
