Summary
At its Oct. 21 meeting Reading City Council heard multiple community announcements: CPR/AED training Nov. 8, fire-department turkey raffle Nov. 21–22, Holiday Walk Dec. 6, parks winterizing beginning Nov. 3 and leaf pickup continuing through early December.
Council heard a series of community and administrative announcements from Mayor Bo Bemmes, Auditor Sabrina Smith and other officials. The items included a CPR/AED training class on Nov. 8 ($20 certification, limited to 25 local residents), the Reading Fire Department turkey raffle Nov. 21–22 at Haffey Fieldhouse, and the Reading Holiday Walk on Dec. 6 (6–8 p.m.). Public Works will begin winterizing parks on Nov. 3 and leaf pickup is underway until trucks are prepared for snow/ice removal, typically early December.
Auditor Sabrina Smith also discussed cancelling the Dec. 16 legislative meeting and scheduling a special meeting on Dec. 23 for appropriations adjustments. Other administrative notes included a request to repair council-chamber curtains and reminders to sign up for emergency alerts at AlertHC.org.
