SWOSU’s CPP building to be named The Randy L. Beutler Building effective Jan. 1, 2026

The Board approved Southwestern Oklahoma State University's request to rename the current Chemistry, Pharmacy & Physics (CPP) Building as "The Randy L. Beutler Building," effective Jan. 1, 2026.
The SWOSU Building Code Committee recommended the renaming, and the SWOSU Executive Council affirmed the decision. The committee noted Dr. Beutler’s role in securing private, state, and federal funding for the Hodge Center and his leadership on campus projects. The motion to approve the renaming was moved by Regent Amy Anne Ford, seconded by Lake Carpenter, and approved unanimously.
The minutes state the Pharmacy program will relocate to the new Jerry & Margaret Hodge Center for Pharmacy & Rural Health in summer 2026; the renamed building will continue to house Chemistry and Physics programs and classroom space.
