The Regional University System of Oklahoma Board of Regents announced that it has hired Ellen Buettner as the system's new Chief Executive Officer; Buettner is set to begin her position on October 20, 2025.
Chair Jane McDermott told the Board that the hiring decision has been made and also said the Board will welcome a new regent, Carl McKenzie of Bixby, who will be filling Position 2. "The Board has hired a new RUSO CEO, Ellen Buettner, who is set to begin her position on October 20, 2025," the minutes state. The announcement was part of the Chair's report during the Oct. 2 meeting in Durant.
