Reading mayor announces $1.65 million in infrastructure funding, highlights police award

Mayor Robert "Bo" Bemmes used his Sept. 2 council report to outline several new infrastructure grants and local recognitions. "We were awarded $105,000 in MRF funds that we will use to repave Hunt Road from Fuhrman to Blue Ash," Bemmes said, and he also announced a SORTA grant of $385,000 to pave Jefferson Avenue from Koehler to Reading Road.
Bemmes said the city received $826,400 in Ohio Public Works grant dollars and an $826,400 interest-free loan—together enabling a $1,652,800 project to improve East Crest Drive, Crestmont Drive and West Crest (including water-main improvements). He also highlighted that the Police Department received Lexipol's Gold award for the sixth consecutive year. The mayor encouraged residents to sign up for Hamilton County emergency alerts and listed community events and volunteer recognition.
