Commission disapproves Lakeview Parkway preliminary plat to correct county/jurisdiction clerical error

The Rowlett Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously Sept. 23 to disapprove the Lakeview Parkway preliminary plat due to clerical errors in the document's county/jurisdiction notation. Chair introduced the item as the commission took action on the "Lakeview Parkway preliminary plat," and commissioners and staff determined the plat's notes or title block referenced the wrong county. "City Of Rowlett, Rockwell County, Texas should actually read City Of Rowlett, Dallas County, Texas," the Chair noted as commissioners reviewed the map and records. After discussion, Commissioner Pollard moved to disapprove the plat for clerical errors so staff could correct and resubmit; Commissioner Tucker seconded the motion and the board voted 7–0 to disapprove.
Commissioners emphasized the correction was clerical: the plat describes a 3.217-acre property in the Joshua Hart survey, Abstract No. 111, at or near the intersection of Lakeview Parkway and Del Rock Road. Staff and commissioners instructed that the corrected plat be brought back to the commission once the county/jurisdiction language and other title-block notes are corrected. "Staff to bring it back with the corrections," a commissioner said during the discussion.
