Plano ISD bond update: Haggard, Plano Senior High and CTE center show major progress; many projects continue through 2029

Tony Pearson, Director of Planning and New Construction, told trustees the 2022 bond program is in active multi-phase delivery and showed progress across dozens of projects. He said 33 projects have been completed and nine remain active from Phase 1; flagship projects include Williams, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center, Haggard Middle School replacement and renovations at senior high campuses.
Pearson described Haggard Middle School as fully dried in with interior finishes underway and noted the new campus will be about 107,900 square feet while the old building remains in operation during construction. At Plano Senior High, Pearson highlighted a major athletic and storm-shelter addition and interior connectors designed to allow movement without going outdoors. He said the CTE center is under vertical construction and scheduled for October 2026 completion. Trustees praised visible progress and asked about scheduling, pool and natatorium work, and opportunities for board tours of campuses during contract days.
The presentation covered kitchen and HVAC upgrades, playground and demolition activities across campuses, and sequencing strategies that aim to avoid major disruption while school is in session; several projects carry into 2028-29 for final elements such as courts and site work.
