Plano ISD names Dr. Liliana Marquez principal of Christie Elementary

Plano ISD announced the appointment of Dr. Liliana Marquez as the new principal of Christie Elementary during the board meeting on Feb. 3.
"It is with great excitement that I announce the new principal of Christie Elementary, Dr. Liliana Marquez," Executive Director Mark Lederer said. Lederer described Dr. Marquez's 16 years of experience as a bilingual classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal and most recently a district leader for dual language and ESL programs in a neighboring district. He noted she was born in Colombia and holds a master's degree in educational administration.
Dr. Marquez's family attended the meeting in support. Trustees welcomed the appointment and the board president called it a "welcome home to Plano ISD."
