WEB to hire replacement agent after long-serving member retires; UASI reallocation may fund equipment

WEB Director Matt Vanyo informed the Westshore Council of Governments that WEB Agent #74, Brad Schultz, will retire effective March 31, 2026, after "25 years of honorable service." Vanyo said he confirmed with Treasurer Renee Mahoney that sufficient budgeted funds exist to hire a replacement and asked permission to begin the hiring process with a target onboarding date of April 1, 2026.
Mayor Dennis Clough moved to approve filling the vacant agent position; Mayor Meghan George seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved. The hire will be the first new WEB agent in nearly a decade and follows a revamped hiring process.
Separately, Vanyo reported that all UASI 2023 grant projects were fully funded, leaving approximately $200,000 available for reallocation. He and Fairview Park Fire Captain Tim Draves said they are preparing submissions for reallocated funds and may request up to $75,000 for equipment for the WEB Mobile Field Force Unit; additional information on equipment needs and formal requests was pending.
