Following an executive session conducted under Texas Code 551.074 (personnel), the board returned to open session and considered a motion regarding the resignation of Rebecca DeCamp. Doctor Nedra Robinson moved a resolution making a finding that good cause did not exist under Texas Education Code section 21.210(c)(2) for DeCamp's resignation; the motion "did not consent to her resignation" and authorized the superintendent to file a complaint with the State Board for Educator Certification seeking sanctions for abandonment of contract. Doctor Latonya Woodson Mayfield seconded the motion and the board voted in favor.
The motion language was read into the record and the board recorded that the motion passed by show of hands; trustees did not provide further public deliberation on the specifics of the personnel determination at the open meeting. The board adjourned immediately afterward.
