Crowley ISD unveils parent-led "Learning Together Coalition" and a March 30 stadium literacy event

Chief academic officer Rowe told trustees the Learning Together Coalition grew out of "Mondays with McFarland" conversations and is a parent‑driven effort to build ongoing instructional partnerships. She said families led development of the coalition and selected literacy as the initial focus, announcing a March 30 "Book the Stadium" event that will pair campus booths with literacy activities and family programming. "When we listen, we build the trust," Rowe said, describing the coalition's progression from small parent groups to representation from every campus.

Trustees and parents discussed volunteer recruitment, multilingual outreach (the district has more than 60 languages represented), and success criteria the committee set (a target of 15 families from each campus for the launch event). District staff said library partners, food trucks and authors have been contacted and asked trustees and student leaders to help recruit volunteers and high‑school readers for the event. The coalition leaders emphasized the event is a starting point for deeper, parent‑driven instructional partnerships.
