"We have received a grant of a $118,331 ... this grant covers approximately 6,500 pouches," Mr. Mohammed explained, adding the pouches have an expected shelf life of approximately three years and the district will determine whether to collect pouches once per day or per class period. Trustee Kalisha Stevenson asked whether roll‑out would be daily or per class period and who would supervise the process.
Trustee Cecee Watkins said she had personal experience with Yondr pouches at a concert and described the process as working well; staff said district rollout details will be determined and communicated. The consent agenda, which included the grant item and other routine approvals, was moved and approved by the board.
