BJ’s, Tarrant Area Food Bank partner with Crowley ISD; board accepts $20,000 hygiene donation

"When BJ's Wholesale Club joined our community, they immediately sought ways to support Crowley ISD," Mr. Mohammed told trustees, describing a partnership that includes a $100,000 donation to establish new community food markets and a separate $20,000 contribution for hygiene supplies. The district said BJ's memberships will also include a local give‑back component (e.g., $5 of a $15 membership will go to Crowley ISD students).</p>
Dr. Jared Williams of the Tarrant Area Food Bank highlighted the reach of local food distributions and the scale of investments the partnership supports: "Since 2024, we've provided more than 1,000,000 meals to our families ... which equates to about a $3,500,000 investment," he said.
Board members moved to accept the $20,000 hygiene donation from BJ’s Wholesale Club. Trustee June W. Davis moved the acceptance; Trustee Cecee Watkins seconded. The chair called for a show of hands and declared the motion passed by the board.
The partnership will be implemented in coordination with the district and the Tarrant Area Food Bank; board discussion asked staff to confirm details and timeline for setting up the on‑campus markets.
