Pegram authorizes TDOT traffic-signal modernization agreement with no local match

The board authorized the Mayor to sign the General Maintenance Agreement required by the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Traffic Signal Modernization Program (TSMP). Recorder Tina Morehead explained the grant requires no local matching funds and will fund modernization of the traffic signal at Highway 70 and Thompson Road.
The agreement also confirms the town will continue existing maintenance responsibilities. Vice Mayor Bob Sanders moved approval and Alderman Miranda Montgomery seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
