The Town of Pegram voted to approve Resolution 2026-229 authorizing SRF loan participation to finance wastewater treatment upgrades intended to meet current service demands and future growth.
Engineer Luke Sullivan presented the project, saying the town currently operates a re-circulating sand filter system with nine treatment zones and room for five additional zones. Sullivan reported the plant’s current average flow is approximately 36,000 gallons per day and the town’s permit allows expansion to 66,000 gallons per day. The proposed work includes construction of four treatment tanks with provisions to expand capacity later.
Vice Mayor Bob Sanders and other board members voted to approve the resolution; Alderman Miranda Montgomery recused herself from the vote because she is employed by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). The motion carried with votes recorded as Howington-yes, Sanders-yes, Morehead-yes, Montgomery-recused, Paszek-yes.
The approval authorizes the town to proceed with SRF-funded sewer rehabilitation steps recommended by the engineering report and positions the project to move into contractor mobilization.
