Mrs. Tilley told the board the increase stems from three levies: county highway, matching and liability. County Engineer Mark Mathon said the highway and matching increases are linked and cited specific projects, saying there were "several projects coming up including resurfacing the parking lot, repairs to the salt storage domes and carpet." He tied the levy change to those near-term capital needs.
Tilley also cited higher liability costs: she said the liability fund increase is due to "3 current cases with high reserves," requiring a larger reserve allocation in next year's levy. The hearing record shows no public testimony or questions were offered before the board moved to adjourn.
