Miss Lofton told the council that lifeguard hiring has been slow and issued a call for community members to apply; she also said staff are preparing the aquatic center for the season. "The aquatic center is being prepped for the year upcoming," she said during her report.
Lofton explained that staff are assembling bleachers at the baseball fields and that the city will consider asphalt under the bleachers in the supplemental budget to improve accessibility. The bleacher replacement at Kaiser Field will be coordinated with paving to minimize disruption before opening day, tentatively scheduled for May 3.
